Build a rope-and-chain anchor rode for your boat and windlass. OnBoard Rigging professionally splices marine-grade nylon anchor line directly to compatible G4 windlass chain, creating a smooth transition for deployment and retrieval.

Choose flexible 8-strand nylon for compact locker stowage and excellent resistance to twisting, or choose firm 3-strand nylon for a traditional and economical anchor rode. Select the rope diameter, chain size, chain length and total line length required for your anchoring system.

Not sure what fits? Check your windlass manual or send us the windlass model and gypsy number before ordering. Chain diameter alone does not guarantee compatibility; grade, pitch and link dimensions also matter.

What is a pre-spliced anchor rode?

An anchor rode is the complete connection between the boat and anchor. It may be all chain, all rope, or a combination of nylon rope and chain. “Anchor line” usually refers to the rope portion, while “pre-spliced anchor rode” accurately describes the complete rope-and-chain assembly sold on this page.

Why combine nylon line with chain?

The chain provides weight and abrasion resistance near the seabed. Nylon line reduces bow weight and provides elastic elongation that helps soften loads from wind, waves and wakes. A professionally made rope-to-chain splice allows the two sections to travel through a compatible rope-chain windlass.
