Why We Buy Epoch Batteries

We like Epoch batteries for a simple reason: there is an American company standing behind them, with real people who pick up the phone. When you put a lithium bank on your boat or RV, that matters as much as the battery itself.

An American company that stands behind them

Epoch is a veteran-owned US company with its office in Marietta, Georgia, and people in California. When something comes up, there is someone here to stand behind the product.

More than 20 years in business

The people behind Epoch have been in the battery business for more than 20 years. This isn't a brand that showed up last year and will be gone next year.

They answer the phone

Call Epoch and a person picks up. Miss them, and they call you back. Emails get real answers, and they keep you updated along the way.

Real tech support

Actual US-based tech support from people who speak plain English and work hands-on with boat and RV owners every day.

Talk to a real person

Charge settings, Victron programming, cold-weather charging, which battery can start your engine: questions come up with any lithium install. Epoch's support team is there for them:

And you can always call us first. We're an authorized Epoch dealer, and we'll help you choose, wire and set up your battery, and get Epoch on the line if we need them.

The lineup we carry

Epoch makes LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) batteries in 12V, 24V, 36V and 48V for boats, RVs, golf carts and off-grid systems, plus matching chargers and DC-to-DC chargers.

Series Good for Battery warranty
Eco Budget-friendly house and trolling power 6 years
Essential Most house banks and trolling motors; many models with Bluetooth and heating 11 years
Pro Waterproof (IP67) heated batteries, including a 12V 300Ah dual-purpose cranking and deep-cycle model 11 years
Elite Big systems: IP67, self-heating, Victron communications for GX devices 11 years

"Cranking" means the battery can start an engine. It does not mean it is approved for every outboard, so check with us or your engine manual first.

The warranty, in plain language

Here's the best part: with other battery brands we've carried, we've handled our share of warranty claims. With Epoch, we haven't had to file a single one. Below is Epoch's published warranty in plain language, so you know exactly what you're covered for. If you ever need it, we'll help you through it.

What is covered

  • Batteries: up to 11 years, depending on the series (Eco is 6 years). Covers defects in materials and workmanship.
  • Chargers: 2 years from purchase.
  • Accessories: 1 year from purchase.
  • The warranty belongs to the original buyer and does not transfer if you sell the boat or battery.

Register within 90 days

Register your battery with Epoch within 90 days of purchase for full coverage. If you don't, the warranty clock starts from the battery's manufacturing date instead of your purchase date. Keep your receipt; proof of purchase is required for any claim.

What can void it

Most of this is just good installation practice:

  • Loose, unsecured mounting, or loose or corroded terminals
  • Reverse polarity or short circuits
  • Poor crimps or undersized cables (we can help with properly made battery cables)
  • Drops, impact, fire, or being submerged
  • Storing it above 140°F or below -40°F
  • Leaving it uncharged for more than three months, or fully discharged for a long time
  • Opening or modifying the battery

How a claim works

  1. Submit a request on the Epoch warranty portal with the serial number, proof of purchase, a description of the problem, and photos.
  2. Epoch reviews it. If they want to evaluate the battery, they send an RMA number and shipping instructions. Don't ship without an RMA.
  3. You pack it to lithium shipping rules and pay to ship it to Epoch (insurance recommended).
  4. Epoch inspects and tests it, typically in 3 to 10 business days, and decides on repair or replacement. Approved repairs and replacements come back with tracking.

This is a summary. Epoch's full warranty terms are the final word, including the model-by-model coverage chart.
